On Sunday, November 6th Compassion First had the privilege of coordinating it’s 3rd annual Portland “From Numbers to Names” – Take My Hand Banquet and Experience Exhibit.

We’re so encouraged by the response we received from all of our 2011 guests.  Calculations for the evening have totaled just over $174,000.  This does not include the thousands of dollars that came in the form of in-kind donations that made the evening so great.

We had the privilege of featuring Tory Foster, a 16-year-old artist from North Carolina, who performed for nearly 700 guests from the Portland metropolitan area of Oregon.  Her three canvas live painting performance, entitled “I am Beautiful” was a moving experience that shared the story of one of Compassion First’s clients.  Tory’s engaging storytelling performance brought our guests through the heartbreaking journey of being trafficked to the hope that is found in Ruth’s House.

The silent auction for Tory’s paintings has been settled with two bidders, who had matching maximum bids of $2000, combining their offers and graciously donating the painting series back to CF!

Some of you have requested the information about ordering copies of Tory’s paintings.  If you are interested in these 11″ x 14″ canvas or photo print pieces and were not able to make it back to the order table, place your order by clicking here.  All proceeds from print sales will go to Tory who volunteered her efforts and donated her work on Sunday.
