Poverty Remediation and Human Rights

CF and AMNet


Our initial work in the area of human rights and solution-based poverty remediation is in Sierra Leone, a small war-torn country on the Coast of West Africa.  Compassion First is very proud to have an affiliate relationship with AMNet and is working in two major areas:


Advocacy For Women and Girls:

CF/AMNet is leading the way in advocacy for women and girls, CF/AMNet is working in the following areas:

  • Systematically  implementing successful strategies that are eliminating the practice of female genital mutilation.
  • Bringing solution to child laborers thorugh case-managed education sponsorships.
  • Transitional services are also being pursued for street children who lost parents in the war.  Full transitional services for the sexually trafficked are in our plans for the future.


Education Sponsorships:

Compassion First is providing case managed sponsorships for children forced to the street to work due to lack of family funding for school fees. Provision of school sponsorships are fully dependent on contract fulfillment by families committing to no longer utilize children as forced labor insuring the basic rights of sponsored children.
