CF History

Compassion First (CF) was founded by Mike Mercer in August of 2007.  At that time CF began its pursuit of discovering how it could become providers of aftercare for survivors of sex trafficking.  CF contracted with Transitions Global in 2008 and 2009 to assist with in-country assessment, networking, hiring and field operational/staff training.

As of now, CF’s primary operations for aftercare are provided through Ruth’s House, CF’s first aftercare transitional center in Indonesia. Ruth’s House is a 24-hour secure, staffed facility that is operated by Compassion First Indonesia with capacity for up to 12 girls. The home opened May 2010 and received its first client in August of 2010. CF leases the facility, and the program within the home is completely funded and operated by CF.
