Community-Based Care: What is it?

Compassion First is committed to ensuring each girl receives care in the setting that best supports her healing, with her safety as the highest priority. When it is safe and in her best interest to be with her family, she remains in her community instead of entering one of our shelters; this is called Community-Based Care (CBC). CBC allows girls to heal within their own families while still receiving trauma-informed care, case management, counseling, and educational support. This cost-effective approach strengthens families and influences communities, reinforcing a shared commitment that trafficking will not be tolerated.
